Sofia starts school on Wednesday...

...and we have our first "parent" meeting tonight. So, I'm a little nervous but so dang excited. Sofia is going to LOVE school and I can't wait to see how excited she gets when she realizes "la escuela" will be a regular thing and she'll get to play with the "niños."

Tonight, as we were putting Sofia to bed I thought perhaps I should take her to get her hair cut tomorrow before her first day. I totally remember getting my hair cut AND PERMED right before the first day of school. Yeah, I was quite the looker back then. Maybe I'll find a killer picture of me with my hair all permed and my favorite bugs bunny shirt to post on the blog...SIKE! Oh, the memories of back to school time! Can we say, "Nerd-o?!?!"

Hey, I was a nerd-o too, don't feel bad. Please post the picture, pretty please. (Even though I'm pretty sure I've already seen it, I wouldn't mind a replay). ;)

Did you see our fotos on my blog?

Well, since you said pretty please--I'll "see what I can do." LOL.

Our photos on your blog, rock!

Hey, if you post your perm picture here, I'll see if I can rustle up one of my perm pics and post it on face book.
Pretty please with cherries on top?

Oh, you two! How can I even say no to pretty please with cherries on top?!?! I am still deliberating as to whether or not I can be okay with humiliating myself on the world wide web! LOL. Stay tuned, friends...stay tuned.

Stormy...I love your blog and I've already tried your fish marinade recipe (which I'll be posting on my food blog momentarily). The world should have that recipe. It was DELICIOUS! Anyway, just had to say that I too had the regular perm appointments in ELEMENTARY school. I was just thinking the other day...was that an okay thing to do back then or is it like dying your kids hair when they're in kindergarten. Seriously...what were mother's of 80's children thinking? Oh well. I loved it then. Don't think I'd go for it now.

If you post your photo...I'll look for one of mine. :)

Daisy, That is AWESOME that you tried the recipe. I'm so glad that someone enjoyed it as much as we did. I was actually planning to make it for dinner mañana. Yummers.

Well, now that so many us can relate to the 80's perm fest...perhaps it wouldn't be so humiliating for me to post a pic or two. I actually have my 7th grade school ID card featuring my best perm ever. All I ever had to do was "tease it and make it look like a brown football helmet!" (Steel Magnolias quote) WOW. I'm laughing and crying at the same time while I type this. Also, do note--I had perms even past elementary school into middle school. It sounds like you may have been spared the middle-school perm years!

p.s. I'm going to check out your food blog right now..can't wait to find something rico. ;)

Hi stormy,
I'm your fall swapper person - I just wanted to let you know your package is in the works but won't be shipped until I get back into town on the 13th - I'm super sorry it's delayed, I just didn't have time to go to the post office before catching a flight. I hope you like everything though! I've had fun reading about you and your cute family.
